Social Capital: the key to success for the 21st century organization

This is another one of Valdis Krebs' articles where he argues that it is no longer enough to just manage individual human resources. Today's HR professional should manage inter-connectedness across assets. Managing social capital is important to ensure that there is a smooth flow of information within the organization. He also argues that in a world of social media like Facebook and LinkedIn, it is also one of the key drivers in employee retention. Today's organizations rely less on owned assets and more on 'human assets' that an organization uses to get to its goals. Thus, the role of today's HR professional is fast changing.
