SNA of tennis player Tsonga's carrier

Background

Whereas he is one of the best current tennis player in the world (he finished the year at ranking n°7 and he before reached the 5th position), the French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has not yet won any Grand Slam. Indeed, in spite of a final in the Australian Open in 2008 against Djokovic, he has not yet reached the main goal of his life: winning a Grand Slam. Actually, he even left his historical trainer Eric Winogradsky that trained him for 7 years to try the adventure alone. But, year after year, the winners of the big tournaments are still the same: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and recently Andy Murray. Therefore, the logical question is, even if he won against all these players at least once in his career, why is he not able to win a Grand Slam?

Objective

Finding an explanation of his failure by using the social networking analysis (SNA)

Methodology

Actually, a lot of factors can explain the performances of a tennis player. The individual side (technic, physic, psychology, number of injuries,…) and the competitors have mainly to be taken into account. But the paradox of this player is that when he reached his only Grand Slam final, he was just the 38th best player in the world, far away of the best players… So we had to precisely find an explanation of why he did not
manage to win a Grand Slam and how he will able to do that in the coming years.

Attributes needed
-
Performances in Grand Slam since 2007
-          Number of titles
-          His ATP ranking since the beginning of his career
-          People from his staff (profile)
-          Players who beat him in Grand Slam
-          Performances of his 4 main competitors in Grand Slam since 2007 (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray)

Conclusion

Regarding the SNA, that is to say Tsonga’s staff profile, his own performances and the ones of the 4 best players in Grand Slam since 2007, we can notice that he is maybe not focus enough on these big events, because he won against all the best players in the world during “small” tournaments but almost never during Grand Slam. Therefore it is maybe a psychological problem because even players as Del Potro, whereas he was ranked at the 5th position, managed to win a Grand Slam. Or he just has to wait that some competitors retire…

Good idea. Actually, the players he beat or who beat him is a network question. You're trying to espeblish some kind of pattern based on his won/lost record, no?
