Consulting Company without pyramid structure!

Dear all,

after reading all these valuable comments I would like to point out one consulting specific characteristic. Successful consulting companies usually have a pyramid structure. The levels with the highest headcount should be Consultants and Assistants, the lowest number should be partner and manager. The given structure shows the opposite and it is difficult for junior high potentials to go-up, thus they have bad career perspectives and leave the company.

A solution is to manage the pyramide:
- fire senoir people which perform below average
- promote high potentials
- hire new high potentials

Best regards
Denis

Hi Denis/Class,

I like that you broke down the role attributes of the group. I personally wouldn't be comfortable making any recommendations without further research. That being said, I would want to interview 2-3 people in each of the 5 roles to gather additional data in order to make an informed decision.

Choosing which people to interview could be driven by density and degree, since these are the folks that would either a) have the information we want, or b) be disseminating the information that we might want to control.

Thoughts?
