Social Networks: The New Revolution?

Is social Network an ally of the people or enemy of governments?

Maybe is both, access and use of technology has increased over the last decade and has influence our own lives as well as governments in our countries.  Today we have access to the most accurate and precise information, we don’t need to use the TV or radio to know what is happening in the world.  With just a click in our smart phones or any other type of device we are able to connect with information in any part of the world.

Social Network is a source of self-expression and promotes understanding among its users.  The power no longer relies on the hand of the government, the SN had given power to the society to express and inform their own point of view.

The revolution through Social Networks has helped countries like Egypt to defeat a corrupt government.  This antigovernment movement used Social media as a very powerful tool to tell the world what was really happening in in what we know by the Arab Spring.

For example, since the turmoil started total rates of tweets from Egypt and around the world increased from 2,300 to 230,000 retweets a day. Some of the top 24 video protesters uploaded on YouTube that surpassed the 5.5 million views.

We are witnesses of the world and we must express ourselves and condemn the atrocities that are happening around the world, we need to use Social media as an ally and tool to promote peace.

This is more about social media than SNA. I was looking for something that demonstrated your grasp of the use of SNA in a real-world situation. Look at other posts.
