This poster was made at the University of Rochester to look at relationships between mentors and protegees. The work focuses on underrepresented groups including minorities and women and helps illustrate connections. Analysis was based on co-publication, and data was collected primarily from PubMed. I think it would be very instructive to see a similar analysis done in other institutions and with larger samples, perhaps to examine mentor-protegee relationships within different disciplines and also to see if there is a gender component to mentor selection by students.
