It is always amazing to understand the power of two things.
1. Strength of the working young
2. Internet
For now, Let's see how Internet has created a revolution in Venezuela. It all started by a small group of youth, who were annoyed by the atrocities that were going on in Venezuela. Of-course there were affected by the turmoil.
This small like minded group was formed about five months ago and supported the work and creativity of many artiest and collectives in and around Venezuela. They produced a number of videos, photographs and lot of attractive caricatures, etc and published them on Social Media, especially on FaceBook. This stimulated the blood boil of billions of people around the globe, who prayed for the well-being of those unfortunate innocent lives in Venezuela.
Well, what do you expect when billions of people are standing against the atrocities in a country? The pressure builds on the Government to make sure the stupidity stops. Added to that most of the neighboring countries try to impose strict sanctions and reduce the import and export. This would eventually take Venezuela back by about 10 years, if not more, in terms of economic activity. Now, although Venezuela hasn't stopped all of the atrocities, it has drastically reduced.
So, Yes, Social Media has a great power to influence the decisions even on extremely important thing happening in the world. More information on "Social Media on Venezuela" can be obtained from the below link.
